Find Garfield County Court Dates

Start with the court that holds the case. That single choice shapes every Garfield County court schedule search, because no one calendar lists hearings for all the local courts here. Superior Court and District Court run separate dockets, so the case type tells you which calendar to check. Washington court docket tools can surface a setting fast, though a posted court date is never final; the clerk can confirm whether a hearing has moved. Get the case number if you can. It makes the docket lookup quicker and helps the clerk answer on the first call.

How the Garfield County Court Calendar Works

A Garfield County court calendar is a set of hearing information, not one master list. The Superior Court dates page publishes date blocks for general-jurisdiction matters. The District Court current docket posts criminal and infraction matters and warns that entries may change. A case may also show a setting in Washington Courts Name & Case Search or the Odyssey Portal. Each source answers part of the question.

Superior Court handles felony trials and major civil, family, probate, and guardianship cases. District Court handles limited-jurisdiction criminal cases, traffic and other infractions, small claims, anti-harassment matters, and other District case types. The shared Asotin/Garfield Juvenile Department controls juvenile access. Pomeroy Municipal Court is not a current independent court. Its legacy label may still appear in a state selector, although the official court-code record says it closed in 2001 and contracted with Garfield District.

A calendar entry is only a setting. It does not prove that the hearing occurred or that the court entered an order. The case register or clerk-held file records what happened next.

Garfield County Published Versus Confirmed Dates

The distinction between a published date and a confirmed date matters in Garfield County. The official Superior schedule supplied a biweekly 2026 list. When researched on September 5, 2026, its remaining posted dates were September 9 and 23, October 7 and 21, November 4 and 18, and December 9 and 23. Those are published Superior dates, not promises that every case will be heard on one of them.

The accessible District date page was a 2025 list. No 2026 District date page was identified in the research source set. Do not extend the old pattern into 2026. For a present District setting, check the current docket and call Garfield County District Court at 509-843-1002. For Superior matters, call the Garfield County Clerk at 509-843-3731. Give the case number when possible.

Note: Confirm the date, start time, courtroom, and appearance method with the correct clerk before travel or remote attendance.

Garfield County Court Date Lookups

Use more than one channel when a Garfield County hearing matters to you. Online tools are useful for discovery, but the clerk confirms late changes. A courthouse docket sheet or public terminal can also help when an online search is incomplete. A party's attorney may have the controlling notice or order and should be contacted about the party's own case.

  1. Identify Superior, District, juvenile, or federal jurisdiction from the papers. Do not select a court merely because its office shares the Pomeroy courthouse address.
  2. For District matters, use Find My Court Date. Select Garfield District Court, then enter the last name as printed on the papers and the first-name initial.
  3. For Superior matters, use Odyssey Portal or Washington Courts Name & Case Search. Search Hearings can filter by case number, party, attorney, judicial officer, courtroom, and date range.
  4. Compare the result with the county's Superior date list or District current docket. At the courthouse, ask the correct clerk about a public terminal or the day's posted docket.
  5. Call the Superior Clerk at 509-843-3731 or the District clerk at 509-843-1002. A mailed, emailed, or faxed records request can obtain a specific docket or hearing record, but it is not the fastest route for a same-day change.
  6. Ask the attorney in the case to compare the public result with the filed notice or scheduling order. Confirm whether attendance is in person or approved for remote access.

The statewide system says its data update within 24 hours, around 3 a.m., but that is not real time. Its own disclaimer directs users back to the court for verification. Daily CLJ calendar email is available through the Attorney Search tool, yet that page also advises calling the court on the morning of the proceeding.

Garfield County Docket Time Blocks

Garfield County publishes different starting blocks by court and case family. Superior Court lists its Criminal Docket at 8:30 a.m. and Civil and Family at 9:00 a.m. District Court lists Criminal Docket at 9:00 a.m., Infraction Docket at 10:00 a.m., and Civil, Small Claims, and Anti-Harassment at 10:30 a.m. These are schedule categories. They are not an assurance that a named matter will be called at that exact minute.

Bond hearings for new arrests generally occur on the next business day, according to the local Superior and District pages. The time varies and must be confirmed. That local note is not a fixed deadline, a release promise, or an outcome forecast.

Court Settings: What Each Field Means

Read a Garfield County court setting as a set of fields. Start with the court and case number, then verify the date, time, hearing type, and assigned room or officer. Odyssey may display a case link, party role, status, and Register of Actions. A county current docket may instead group names by criminal or infraction calendar. Neither display is the complete court file.

DateThe scheduled calendar date. Check for a later reset or amended notice.
TimeThe listed docket block or setting time, not a guaranteed call time.
CourtroomThe room or remote assignment. Verify it because venue and access method can change.
JudgeThe judge, commissioner, or judicial officer assigned in the public result.
Setting TypeThe event, such as arraignment, motion hearing, pretrial, infraction hearing, or trial.
StatusA current label or result. It may lag a court order or omit restricted information.

Compare the case number as well as the name. Similar names can produce the wrong result. If a status or field is unclear, ask the responsible Garfield County clerk for the current setting and the underlying notice or order.

When a Court Date Moves

A continuance moves a proceeding to a later time or date. A reset places it on a new setting. A cancellation or stricken setting means the listed event will not go forward as shown, but it does not by itself mean the case ended. The register may add an event, replace the next hearing, or show a terse code. The filed order or notice controls.

Garfield County's current docket page expressly warns that postings can change. After seeing a different date online, compare the case number and hearing type, then contact the clerk or the party's attorney. Ask whether the old setting was continued, struck, or replaced, and whether a new written notice exists. Do not assume that a blank calendar means dismissal.

Changes close to the hearing may not appear in all channels at once. The statewide update cycle is within 24 hours, while a direct court instruction can be newer. Keep the time of the search in your notes and make the clerk's confirmation the last check.

Garfield County Office and Docket Hours

A docket time is not an office-hours statement. Both Garfield County trial courts use the courthouse at 789 W Main Street in Pomeroy, but they keep separate records and phone routes. Superior file viewing is listed from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. That counter schedule does not change the published 8:30 a.m. criminal or 9:00 a.m. civil and family calendar blocks.

Before a trip, call the court that owns the case. Ask whether the day's setting is in person, whether the courtroom assignment changed, and whether a public-access terminal is available. A mailed request is useful for a docket, order, or audio record, but it does not confirm a same-day appearance. District Court uses PO Box 817 and districtcourt@garfieldcountywa.gov for record requests. Superior Court record requests may be sent through the County Clerk's email, fax, mail, or counter routes described on its official page.

Note: The shared courthouse address does not merge Superior and District calendars, clerks, files, or case jurisdiction.

Garfield County Remote Court Schedule

Finding a remote link is separate from receiving permission to attend remotely. Garfield County's remote-access page describes eligibility and identification rules for parties, attorneys, staff, law enforcement, witnesses, advocates, interpreters, guardians ad litem, facilitators, and observers approved by the court. A participant must use a name and role that match the docket.

The county says video and audio must let the court see and hear the participant. Courtroom decorum still applies, and staff may remove a disruptive user. The court does not provide general technical support. A request for another platform needs approval at least seven calendar days before the proceeding, except in an emergency or extreme hardship. Remote-access procedures were evolving when researched, so verify the current link and eligibility with the court before joining.

No recording. The county warns that recording a remote proceeding is illegal and cites RCW 9.73.030 and RCW 9.73.080. A public link is not permission to record.

Missed Settings and What Comes Next

Act promptly after missing a Garfield County court setting. Call the clerk for the court shown on the notice, give the case number, and ask what the docket now records. Contact your attorney if one represents you. The clerk can describe the current entry and the next administrative step, but cannot give legal advice or promise that the court will recall an order.

Missed a Setting? A missed criminal or infraction setting can lead to a failure-to-appear entry and other court action, depending on the case and the judge's order.

Contact the Garfield County Superior Clerk at 509-843-3731 or District Court at 509-843-1002 as soon as possible.

Ask a licensed Washington attorney about legal consequences and whether a motion, new notice, or personal appearance is needed.

Do not rely on the payment vendor, a stale saved page, or a missing online result. A public search may not yet show the newest action. If the court issued an order, request that specific document from the clerk. Superior record requests can be sent by email, fax, USPS mail, or made in person. District requests can be submitted by email to districtcourt@garfieldcountywa.gov, by fax, by mail to PO Box 817, Pomeroy, WA 99347, or at the counter. A records request documents the file, while direct contact addresses the schedule.
